Every one of them is on a phone, searching for somewhere to eat, something to do, and someone to fix what just broke. A website that shows your hours today, your menu today, and a phone number that rings answers those searches. A Facebook page that was last updated in June does not.
Grand Haven was the first Coast Guard City USA, and it has the port, the two red lighthouses on the pier and the catwalk between them that end up in every visitor's photos. The businesses on Washington Avenue and the ones a few blocks off it live on that traffic in summer and on their neighbors the rest of the year. Light Night in November and the fall street events downtown are the proof that the town does not close when the beach does.
