Holland
Web Design in Holland
If you run a shop, restaurant, or service business in Holland, somebody is looking for you right now, on a phone, probably close by. Harborlight builds the website that makes sure they find you, and we build it before you pay a cent.
Harborlight's focus is on the West Michigan lakeshore. Holland is the busiest town on the south end of this shore, with a downtown people drive to on purpose, and the heated downtown sidewalks mean the street stays busy in January, which is unusual on this coast. We know the difference between a July Saturday and a February Tuesday here.
Built for how Holland actually works
Holland is the busiest town on the south end of this shore, 34,000 people, and it does something no other lakeshore town does: it melts its own snow. Since 1988 heated water has run under about five miles of downtown streets and sidewalks, the largest municipally owned system of its kind in North America, so Eighth Street is open and dry in January when every other main street on the lake is a snowbank. That one fact tells you how Holland thinks about its downtown. It is a place people drive to on purpose, all year.
Then May comes. Tulip Time has run since 1929, and the 2026 festival counted nearly 900,000 visitors over ten days, in a town of 34,000. Windmill Island, Big Red across the channel from the state park and the Eighth Street shops carry that crowd for a week and a half, and every one of those visitors is searching a phone for where to eat, where to park and what is open. A website that shows your hours and your menu that week answers the searches. A Facebook page from last fall does not.
Holland is also a working city with a different clock: Herman Miller, Haworth and Heinz have been here for generations, Hope College fills in September, and the trades, salons and restaurants that serve those people search the same way their customers do. Your site is built to answer in Tulip Time and in a quiet week in November, it changes the moment you ask, and it keeps working while you are closed.
In Holland we build for restaurants, shops, marinas, charter captains and the trades.

Common questions
How much does a website cost in Holland?
Nothing to build. The whole site is built first and shown to you finished; if you keep it, a flat plan from $89 a month covers hosting, security and every change you ask for, with no contract and the domain in your name. A Holland shop quoted thousands up front for a site it has not seen can see ours first.
Who builds websites for small businesses in Holland?
We do, from up the shore. Harborlight's focus is on the West Michigan lakeshore, and Holland is the busiest town on its south end. Jim Ruder runs it and spends his summers on this water, so Tulip Time week and a dry Eighth Street in January are things he has seen, not read about.
How long does it take to get a website in Holland?
You are looking at a finished site the same day. Five minutes of your time to answer four questions; the studio researches your business from what is already public and builds the complete site. No homework.
Do I need a website if my Holland business is on Facebook?
For the people who already follow you, Facebook is fine. For the 900,000 who come for Tulip Time, the students arriving in September and the neighbor searching "near me" in February, it is invisible. They are on Google and asking assistants, and a website is the one place all of them can find your hours, your prices and your door.
Will my site still work in the off season?
Holland barely has one, and the site is built for that. It says what is true today, changes when you ask, and keeps answering through the week after Tulip Time and the quiet stretch before Thanksgiving alike. A downtown that melts its snow expects its businesses to be open; the site should look it.
Will ChatGPT know about my Holland business?
Only if the answers exist somewhere it can read. We put your hours, services, prices and location in plain text an assistant can use, then we ask the assistants who they recommend for a business like yours in Holland and tell you exactly what they said. Nobody can promise an assistant will name you, and anyone who does is selling something.
Can I see the website before I commit?
Yes, that is the whole model. The complete site is built first and shown to you finished. If it is not right, you owe nothing.
