Who we build for

Websites for shops and boutiques

Most small shops do not need an online store, and the ones that build one usually regret the inventory work.

What you need is for a visitor with an afternoon to know what you sell before they decide where to walk.

What this site has to do

  • Say what you actually sell, by category, in words. Not a vibe, a list.
  • Get your hours right, especially the seasonal ones, because a wrong hour costs you a customer who was standing outside.
  • Show the shop. People decide whether to come in from a photograph.
  • Say what makes you the one to visit: the brands you carry, the thing you are known for, whether you gift wrap.

What a customer asks an assistant, and what it needs from you

These are the questions people put to ChatGPT and Gemini about a business like yours. The right-hand column is the part that has to exist in text on a page before your name can come back as the answer.

What they askWhat the assistant needs
Where do I buy a gift for a boater in Saugatuck? What you sell, by category, in words
Shops open on Sunday in Grand HavenYour current Sunday hours
Where can I find local pottery on the lakeshore? The makers or brands you carry, named
Somewhere to browse in South Haven on a rainy afternoonA description of the shop that reads like a place

The pages you actually need

What we carry
By category, as text. This is what an assistant matches against a visitor's question.
Hours and finding us
Including where to park, which decides more visits than anybody admits.
Inside the shop
Photographs. The decision to walk in is visual.
Special orders and gifts
The reason somebody chooses you over a bigger store.

You do not have to work any of this out. We research the business and build the whole thing before you pay anything, then you say what is wrong with it.

Questions people ask

Do I need to sell online?
Usually not, and we will tell you if we think you do. Most shops on this shore make their money from people who walk in, and the website's job is to get them to walk in. An online store is real work to keep stocked and it is a decision worth making on purpose.
My stock changes constantly. How does the site keep up?
It should not try. The site says what you carry by category and what you are known for, which stays true, and you ask for a change when something big arrives. Chasing individual items is how a site ends up out of date everywhere.

We also build for charter captains, marinas, restaurants, on-water tow operators and trades and home services, on the Michigan lakeshore only.

See yours before you decide.

We build it first. If it is not right you say so, and if you do not want it you owe nothing.
