Who we build for
Websites for restaurants
The menu is the website. Everything else is decoration around it.
Almost every restaurant site we look at has the menu as a photograph or a PDF, because that is what the printer sent back. Neither Google nor an assistant can read a single word inside either one.
What this site has to do
- Put the menu on the page as text, with prices, so it can be read, quoted and searched.
- Say your hours in a way that survives a holiday weekend and a season change.
- Answer the three questions every caller asks: do you take reservations, is there parking, and can you feed a kid or a vegetarian.
- Be right on a phone, because the person reading is standing on a sidewalk deciding between you and the place across the street.
What a customer asks an assistant, and what it needs from you
These are the questions people put to ChatGPT and Gemini about a business like yours. The right-hand column is the part that has to exist in text on a page before your name can come back as the answer.
| What they ask | What the assistant needs |
|---|---|
| Who has the best reuben near Grand Haven? | Your menu as text, with the word reuben in it |
| Somewhere in Holland open late on a Sunday | Your Sunday hours, current |
| Gluten free dinner in Saugatuck | Your menu marked up, in words |
| Restaurant in Spring Lake that can seat twelve | A page saying you take large parties |
| Where can I eat outside on the water in Muskegon? | The patio, described in text |
The pages you actually need
- The menu
- As text, with prices. This single page is most of your findability.
- Hours
- Including the seasonal ones, and including the days you are closed.
- Drinks
- A wine and beer list is its own set of searches and almost nobody publishes one as text.
- Private events
- The highest value enquiry a small restaurant gets, and usually the page that does not exist.
- Finding you
- Parking, the entrance, and whether the patio is open.
You do not have to work any of this out. We research the business and build the whole thing before you pay anything, then you say what is wrong with it.
Questions people ask
Do I have to type my whole menu out again?
My prices change. Is that a problem?
We also build for charter captains, marinas, on-water tow operators, shops and boutiques and trades and home services, on the Michigan lakeshore only.
See yours before you decide.
We build it first. If it is not right you say so, and if you do not want it you owe nothing.
