Who we build for

Websites for marinas

A marina website is a reference document. Somebody two hours up the lake wants to know whether you have a slip for a 34 foot boat tonight, what it costs, and whether there is fuel.

That information usually exists as a PDF rate sheet, which is the one format neither a search engine nor an assistant can read.

What this site has to do

  • Put the rates in text, by length and by night, week and season.
  • Say what is actually there: power, water, fuel, pump-out, showers, ice, wifi, a restaurant within walking distance.
  • Answer the transient question in the first screen, because that is the visitor with money in hand.
  • Give the approach: channel depth, air draft, and where to hail you.

What a customer asks an assistant, and what it needs from you

These are the questions people put to ChatGPT and Gemini about a business like yours. The right-hand column is the part that has to exist in text on a page before your name can come back as the answer.

What they askWhat the assistant needs
Which marina near Whitehall has transient slips? The word transient, in text, with your sizes
Where can I get fuel and a pump-out on the way to Ludington?Your amenities written as words
How deep is the channel at that harbour?Your approach details on a page
Winter boat storage near MuskegonYour storage page, which most marina sites do not have

The pages you actually need

Transient slips
The highest-value page you have. It should say availability, size, rate and how to reserve.
Rates
Written out, not attached. A PDF is invisible to the thing your customer is asking.
Amenities
The list somebody scans before choosing between you and the next harbour.
Getting here
By water and by road. Depth, the channel, and where to tie up.
Storage and service
The winter half of the business, which the summer site usually forgets.

You do not have to work any of this out. We research the business and build the whole thing before you pay anything, then you say what is wrong with it.

Questions people ask

Our rates are in a PDF. Do we have to retype them?
No. Send us the PDF, or the photo of the rate card, and we turn it into text on the page. That is the version an assistant can read and the version that changes when you ask.
Can the site show which slips are open?
Not today. It can say what sizes you take, what they cost, and how to reach you to reserve one, which is what almost every transient boater actually needs. We would rather say what it does than promise something not built.

We also build for charter captains, restaurants, on-water tow operators, shops and boutiques and trades and home services, on the Michigan lakeshore only.

See yours before you decide.

We build it first. If it is not right you say so, and if you do not want it you owe nothing.
